48” x 40” x 1” Mixed media on wood (Acrylic and Oil Pastel) I have been working in the hot colours of orange, pink and red exploring how they create energy and vibrancy together.
40” x 40” mixed media on wood This piece was painted with That’s How the Cookie Crumbles. I was exploring the layering of red, orange and purple. The feeling is one of whirling around and being a bit out of control.
36” x 36” x 1.5” mixed media on wood panel. Continuing with the same palette I used on my spring series, this piece and Whimsical Garden are fun and light paintings with a garden feel. I love my garden, especially at this time of year. I am surrounded by bee balm and milkweed as I write this. I try to plant only natives now to encourage and support native species, so I was visited by a monarch as well as many bees and moths today.
30” x 30” × 1.5” mixed media on wood panel. Continuing with the same palette I used on my spring series, this piece and Dancing Pigments are fun and light paintings with a garden feel. I love my garden, especially at this time of year. I am surrounded by bee balm and milkweed as I write this. I try to plant only natives now to encourage and support native species, so I was visited by a monarch as well as many bees and moths today.
My Garden is a diptych - 48” x 60” overall in size. Each piece is 48” x 30”. Price shown is per piece. Very loosely painted in the style of Joan Mitchell. I love Joan Mitchell’s very free mark making style and her depiction of “landscapes” in her mind.
48” x 24” x 1.5” Mixed media on Wooden Panel. I was inspired by thinking about the colour of spring. The bright yellow green and the blue skies that you can see through the trees that are just starting to leaf out. I was in my Studio in the Woods but it was in the winter. I was trying to imagine spring. Although this piece turned out to have more blues than greens, and perhaps be more watery than like the growing spring buds, I still think it has a feeling of energy that we receive in the springtime. It has many layers. I used many techniques of applying paint and then moving it around, pulling it off and covering it over in an attempt to stay loose and not too attached to any one stage.
40” x 40” mixed media on canvas. Exhuberant abstract bouquet! This abstract piece is all about energy. There is excitement and joy in the choice of marks and colours.
40” x 40” Mixed media on gallery depth wood panel. Unusual for me in that this painting is strong in only one color - pink/red/orange with minimal mark making on top. It’s dynamism comes from the fluorescent combination of reds and oranges and pinks.
29 × 22 mixed media on paper, mounted on wood panel. Solid, intense pink, orange and black abstracts with mark making. can be hung as a diptych or individually.
30” x 22 Mixed Media on wood. A hot combination of warm and cool colors. This piece has some of my favorite colors and lots of energy and mark making. It would brighten any corner.
35.5” x 28” framed size. This piece is mixed media on watercolor paper, matted and framed with art glass. A very loose, energetic abstract in turquoise and orange on a white background.
This piece has glass, so it will need to be picked up, or sold as the painting without the frame if it is to be shipped.
30” x 30” Mixed media on wood panel. This piece is bold and urban in feel, not trying to be pretty, but making a statement in complementary blue and orange.
30 × 30 mixed media on wood. We learn in color theory that opposite or complementary colours work well together. Blue and orange are opposites and in this painting, variations on the blues and oranges sing well together. The tension is more between the solid colours and the lines and shapes sitting on top. If you'd like a bold punch of orange, this is a good piece to choose.
Wired for hanging.
48" x 24"x1.5" Acrylic and Marker on Wood Panel
This painting has a contrast of dark with bright, with soft undertones and dramatic large shapes. This narrow piece can be hung either vertically or horizontally.
36” x 48” x 1.5” on mixed media on canvas. This piece evokes joy and playfulness in the marks and colours.
30 x 40 Mixed Media on canvas. An abstract mixed media painting with deep warm colours of fuchsia and orange. Highlight colours are lime green and light blue/turquoise. Predominantly dark, this painting breathes and has liveliness from the lighter areas and the repeating circular marks.
This piece complements Raspberry Beret, 36 × 36.
30” x 30” x 1.5” mixed media on canvas. I am working on staying free and loose, on using colours that I love, but also neutralizing them so they aren’t overwhelming, and leaving some of my early marks to show through. I am in a process of experimenting and hoping to find my way. I want to be comfortable and happy with my work, but also to keep taking new steps and risks and not to overdo the paintings.
48 × 36 Mixed Media on Canvas. Frothy, bubbly and pink. Just a simple, effervescent eruption of pink paint and oil pastel on canvas. Joy personified.
Wired and ready to hang.
24” x 24” Mixed media on a wood panel. Now with a white floater frame. This piece works well with Le Bistrot - as a diptych or individually. They have french titles as the red, blue and white are french colours. Enjoy the joie de vivre of these pieces that have such freedom of movement. They contain collage, acrylic paint, some graphite.
24” x 24” Mixed media on a wood panel. Now with a white floater frame. This piece works well with Les Fleurs - as a diptych or individually. They have french titles as the red, blue and white are french colours. Enjoy the joie de vivre of these pieces that have such freedom of movement. They contain collage, acrylic paint, some graphite.
36” x 36” Acrylic and marker on canvas, ready to hang or frame. Sometimes work we’ve made doesn’t feel as strong as we would like so we paint over it. This piece is a reborn canvas. I enlivened it with some mark making, but then it became disjointed as there were too many things to look at. In painting over some of the marks it has been simplified and I think more dramatic.

Vibrant explosion of colors and textures on a grand scale. Canvas measures approximately 62” x 52”. Ready to be stretched to the size required. Can be shipped in a tube or can be stretched first.
Crafted with high-quality mixed media on durable canvas.
Perfect for modern homes, galleries, and creative spaces.

36 x 36 Acrylic on Canvas. Abstract painting of subtle pink and rusty colours with a dramatic black mark on one side. This piece provides a soft statement that would go well with black, brown or even yellow. There is a tiny bit of yellow in it as well. Suitable for any contemporary decor.
The piece has been shown at Skaut Design store on Kingston Road. It is not framed, but framing can be arranged.
36” x 36”Acrylic and Oil Stick on Wood. I have been experimenting with greens, not a colour I have used recently. But, this fall driving back from the cottage, I found myself looking out at mile after mile of vibrant green fields against a blue sky. They were beautiful.

“This one makes me feel happy all over!”

“The artwork is beautiful - lovely use of colour and Cherie helped match up our pair of chosen paintings by volunteering to alter the matting to match. This little but practical step helped display the works to full effect. A great artist and easy to work with. Highly recommended.”

“I am always interested in the art Cherie creates. Having bought a piece for my daughter, I am always on the look out for the next piece that catches my eye. Her work is often vibrant, sometimes dark and always compelling. Super easy to work with, too.”

I absolutely love your work. I’ve been trying to find original pieces for my house lately and have begun exploring gallery’s around where I love. I’ve seen your pieces at PWD Gallery in a Kitchener and was prompted to look you up online.
My 9 year old daughter helped me pick Go. She and I both have an attraction to abstract, colourful pieces and I think it will bring a lot of joy into our living room.
I will definitely be buying more - we’re starting our slow but you are easily one of the most compelling artists I have found :) Melodie

“Here are a couple of pictures of “Sage”. The painting is hanging on an otherwise blank wall in my home office so the photo doesn’t show too much. I hope it’s helpful in spite of that. I continue to really love it and especially the calmness it seems to exude.”
~ Ann
I am still loving hot colours. This is a swirling mass of colours with a hint of flowers. Don’t we all like to receive flowers - any time!!
