I want to capture feelings and energy in the marks and movement of the paint.  I like to show the physicality of the materials, the scratching, the thickness of paint and the brush strokes.  I want the viewer to feel the movement of the painter.  I am also moving towards both a simpler style and yet one that is edgy and kind of cocky.  So in this piece, some sections look quite amateurish, while others are more painterly.  The yellow swoopy mark is like a stamp or a signature.  The work fits somewhere amongst graffiti, Art Brut and abstract expression.
